From cruise lines to dry land…Sarah’s first blog!
I tell you what, you wouldn’t think it would be so hard to get armlines right but even 3rd years have something to learn! In the real world, outside the cosy walls of MDDC, if they are not right your off…and that’s that! Paying attention to detail is the most important thing to set you apart from other performers, it’s the thing that gets you noticed.
Getting ready for the opening performance at the British Supercross I’ve been really impressed as a guest teacher at MDDC. The students are picking things up quickly, a very useful attribute that bodes well for a good career in dance. But for goodness sake let’s get our armlines right!
The Costa Cruise Line teaching squad sees a lot of young performers, fresh out of college, and as everyone is trying to get noticed they forget that a chorus is a team—working together to generate the whole performance. The thing is, if everyone is paying attention to detail then teamwork follows naturally. And the 3rd years are picking that up very quickly…looks like the opening performance is going to be a cracker!
I’ll let you know…Sarah out
