MDDC is proud to announce the achievement of CDET accreditation…
Gaining CDET accreditation reflects the quality and professional relevance of the Professional Dance Performance & Teacher Training and the Musical Theatre courses on offer at MDDC.
The Council for Dance Education and Training is the national standards body of the professional dance industry. It seeks to establish and maintain high standards of education at a national level and within an international context. The accreditation of the courses on offer by MDDC clearly shows the high standards of teaching available at this city centre college and the professional relevance of the course content.
New Principal, Debbie James, was delighted: We are very excited to have achieved this accreditation. It is recognition of the dedication and hard work by the whole faculty that has kept MDDC among the top dance and performance colleges in the country.
MDDC was set up in 1957 under the guiding light of founder Gaynor Owen, who stepped down as Principal after more than 50 years of teaching in July 2008. Recent ex-students include Ray Quinn, runner up on The X Factor, Danny Last and Jodie Binstead, runners up in the first series of Strictly Dance Fever and James Edwards and David Heath of Eton Road.
